Botanical Reserves
In the botanic reserves, the primary focus is on protecting rare or regionally characteristic species and communities of plants. The Subartonys forest botanic reserve protects the communities of fir trees mixed with oak trees along with the quite rich herbal plant life that accompanies them, which is rarely encountered in the Park but is characteristic of the Dzūkai heights. This reserve is also noteworthy for the variety and abundance of species of mammals, due to the excellent feeding conditions there.
