About the Park
 Functional Division into Zones Hydrographical Reserves The most valuable elements of the network of Dzūkija’s rivers are protected not only in landscape reserves, but also in hydrographic reserves. The entire remaining portion of the not straightened (natural) Grūda river with its small twists and turns, wide floodplain valley, and numerous oxbow lakes falls within the Grūda reserve.
The Netiesai reserve, including Apsingė valley and the entire Kempė stream basin with the unique hydrographic complex of the small Netiesai lakes, is also noteworthy for the valuable (from a botanical point-of-view) plant life of spring-fed wetlands. |
